Back in my younger days I considered myself to be somewhat of a poet. The other day my mother came by with several of the poems I’d written years ago. Many of these poems have to do with various times in my life. The one I will publish here, which I have copy written as of today and plan to register, was first written about my 4th or 5th year in the business of providing financial advice back in the early 80’s.
I was a “starving financial advisor” who had just a couple of years prior moved my practice from the Chicago area to Wichita Falls Texas. Back in those days I sold a lot of financial plans which led to a lot of Life Insurance Sales. This was long prior to my interest in investment planning and money management. I remember my elevator speech when people asked me what I did.
I told them “I was a seller of Miracles.” I told them “I could create fortunes with Ink, Paper and Pennies.” Of course … none of those statements would be classified as legal today – and while they are somewhat true – licensed people are no longer allowed to talk that way to the general public.
You take a look at what I wrote back then … and you decide! I will tell you that the incident spelled out in this writing did not actually occur accept for the family (many of them) rejecting my ideas.

Thanks and have a great day!
